Golden Ear is a lossless music player catering to audiophiles. It supports a variety of lossless audio formats such as FLAC, APE, WAV, WavPack, AIFF, and ALAC. The player is equipped to handle accompanying CUE files, facilitating easy track selection by listing individual songs. To enable this feature, ensure that the CUE file shares the same filename as the corresponding music file. Similarly, for displaying cover art, providing an image file with the same name suffices. Moreover, Golden Ear can identify embedded cover art and CUESHEET comment tags within FLAC files.

Users have the flexibility to organize music files by artist or album, or compile all files into a single playlist or per selected folders. The player offers a user-friendly interface with three playback modes: sequential playback, shuffle mode, and loop single track/song.
